The Dwyane Wade statue

The Dwyane Wade statue, unveiled on October 27, 2024, outside the Kaseya Center in Miami, honors Wade’s legacy with the Miami Heat. The 8-foot bronze sculpture captures Wade in his famous "this is my house" pose from a 2009 double-overtime game against the Chicago Bulls, an iconic moment that solidified his reputation as one of the NBA's most dynamic players

Designed by artists Omri Amrany and Oscar León of the Rotblatt Amrany Studio, the statue includes details that reflect Wade's personal journey. Wade’s shoes are engraved with his parents’ names, acknowledging his family's influence, and a wristband on the statue carries two addresses representing his childhood homes in Chicago. His gum-chewing stance in the statue mirrors the habit he had during the actual game, adding authenticity to the moment being commemorated

The emotional unveiling included remarks from Wade, who reflected on his friendship with Kobe Bryant, as both Bryant's and Wade's statues were being crafted simultaneously. Wade described the experience as humbling and significant, viewing the statue as a tribute to his career that will live on for generations. Wade's son, Zaire, gave a moving speech, leaving Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, in tears as they embraced the momentous honor
